My Intentions for the New Year

 For the New Year I will intend to not over think things and not cause a lot of stress on me because of school work. I will try to do this by not stressing over the small things and due dates of work. I will try to be calmer and approach things in a more positive way. I will intend to not over think things by asking questions that I have and to relax about it. I will intend to not cause stress because of school work by getting it done quick and to my full potential. I will also ask for help if I need it so I won't be confused and not understand what I need to do. I will also intend to be more positive into my school work by getting it done instead of just waiting until the day before when it is due. I will try to do all these things into the New Year because I want to improve myself every single year to be the best of myself that I can possibly be.

The Concussion Penalty

 A football player works so hard to get into the NFL. They have to be really good in college in order to stand out more. They have to pray that they get selected in the draft. When they finally get drafted and are on the football field it's like a dream come true until they get a concussion. Did you know that in 2015 over 271 concussions happened in the NFL in practice and in real games source ESPN. com.

A concussion is a brain injury that can be caused by a very hard hit in the head. In this case it's happens when two players collide with each other in the head with a lot of force. Concussions are really dangerous they can cause CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). This brain disease can cause confusion it can also lead to progressive dementia. For football players concussions happen on the football field during play.

 Meg Navolio a 8th grade math teacher who has had a concussion was interviewed  and was asked the following questions how did your concussion happen? “My concussion happened when I was playing indoor co-ed soccer on a hard surface(not turf) I got my legs tangled with another player and fell and hit my head on the hard surface.”. The second question that was asked was how did the concussion feel? “I walked around sort of blacked out and confused until one of my teammates helped me realize where I was”. The third question that was asked was did the concussion have any long term effects? “I missed 3 days of work/school, but even after I went back to work the effects stuck with me. It took at least 2 weeks to feel better.”

Looking at these answers you can see that concussions are really bad and can have long term effects. These effects can stick with you longer than it did with Meg Navolio. Concussions are a big problem to the player and to the players family and the NFL. A movie was released about this topic it was called “Concussion” starring Will Smith. This movie was about him playing a doctor who is trying to raise awareness about how dangerous football can actual be and head injuries you can get from playing it. In conclusion the NFL should take this issue more seriously because it could affect the player's life and this could affect the game of football.

The UnderDogs

 This book was basically about a kid named Tyler who loved football. The town he lived in was kinda lonely and has no famous sports teams around. He always joins football every year. But this year is different because the town has not a lot of money to fund the local football team. So he feels sad and a little mad so he tries to find sponsors to fund his team. He writes a letter to a company called New Balance and they agree to fund the team. But during this a girl named Hannah likes sports and football she asked Tyler if she can join the team and Tyler was a little unsure about that. He asked his dad who coached the team and he said as long as she doesn't get hurt. So the other teams make fun of them because the have a girl playing. I recommend this book to people who like sports and realistic fiction.

Best Gift I have Given

 The best gift that I have given was to my Mom. It was a Jack skeleton ornament she really likes this character. She always wanted to get that one but she never did so last Christmas I could've think of what to give her I always didn't what to give her a Cliche gift. Then my older brother Suggested that I  give her a Jack skeleton ornament that she always wanted. So my uncle took my brother and I to Chicago Ridge mall and  we went to a store where they sold a lot of ornaments I forgot the name but it was nice. I seen the ornament that she said  she liked and wanted but then I saw another one so I  Compared the two but got the one she always wanted but never got and I bought it for her. On Christmas Day when I gave her the present she was so happy that was a a really good Christmas.

What my Name means

   My first name Angel means a guardian spirit. The word Angel also has something to do with God. An Angel can also be in discus as a humane. An angel can also be a symbol to God also the Angel can have a halo above its head and wings. Angel's are also protectors towards humans in certain religions. My last name is a very common Spanish last name there are also differ trays of spelling it. This last name originated from Basque. My last name used to be a nickname not an official name. What it means to me is I like it the name Angel is common. It is special to me because that's the name my mom picked for me. I'm glad that I got this name and that I will have for the rest of my life.

My Favorite Quote

 A quote that I really liked was said by an old football coach that coached the Green Bay Packers. The Super Bowl trophy was named after him his name was Vince Lombardi He led the Packers to win the first Super Bowl ever. What he said was " Your either first or your last". What this quote means is that your either  the best or worst because second place is not the best of yourself. He would say this to his players to motivate them and play at there very top level. What this quote means to me is to try my hardest and try to be the best at what I'm doing. I like this quote because it gives you motivation to seek and get first place or be on the top. Another reason why I like this quote is because you have to expect the best of your self don't think little of yourself.

Game Changers

 The author of this book is Mike Lupica. This book is about a kid named Ben he likes football a lot. He is short he always wanted to be the quarterback. One day he tries out for the football team and makes it but not as a quarterback he is a wide receiver. Some of his friends are on the football team they know how much he wants to be quarterback but Shawn has that position so he deals with it for now. The coach for that team happens to be the father of Shawn. But later on he gets his chance when they are losing so the put him in the game and he does really good. Bens dad gives motivation to not be mad that he is not the starting quarterback. The overall team that Ben is on is pretty good they want to make in the championship. So I recommend this book to anyone who likes sports and realistic fiction.

What I'm Thankful For

   The thing that I am really thankful for is my parents my Mom and Dad. The reason why I say this is because without them I wouldn't have much I thank them for the things that I have now. They have provided ,me with  so much I thank them. Another thing that I am thankful for is my older brother because he taught me stuff about life. I am thankful that I have an education and the right to learn. I am also thankful that I am in good health. I am thankful for living in a country that provides so much freedom. I like that are country has the ability to vote and have any opinion that they what to. Lastly I am thankful for my family because they provide a lot of things for me and my older brother. So in conclusion I am thankful for the stuff I have and the family members around me.    

Election Reflection

    My thoughts on this election in genarall is I am very surprised by the result of this election. I can see that America wants something different instead of the same old thing. A lot of people also are scared of what Donald Trump will do to America. Some other people are excited to see what Donald Trump will do. Some people have hope and will what America to be a great country. A lot of people wanted Hillary Clinton to win since she would've been the first women president in U.S history. I also think that this election wasn't really taken seriously in the media some people thought that this wasn't as seriously as it is. My thoughts on this election is people now have to see what Donald Trump is going to do for America and see if he was the right choice to be the president. The news and media where shocked to see the results the predicted Hillary to beat Donald in this election but as you can see they were wrong.

Tiki Barbers Career

   The book that I read which was a biography it was called Tiki Barber. This book talks about the career of Tiki Barber the first part talked about his college career. In college Tiki was very good and really smart including his brother Ronde Barber which was a also a football player. Tiki Barber had many good games in college many people thought he would be picked early in the draft. When draft day came Tiki Barber was selected later then many expected he was picked by the New York Giants. His first year in the NFL was not outstanding he struggled a little bit. When the years passed by he improved on his running back skills. It took a while for them to reach the playoffs and when they did the Philadelphia Eagles would always beat them. But one time they beat the Eagles and went to the Super Bowl but sadly they lost to the ravens 34-7. The following years that came Tiki had some good games and even good years. Tiki Barber no longer plays in the NFL sometimes he broadcasts games. His brother Ronde Barber also no longer plays in the NFL he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So in conclusion Tiki Barber was overall a great running back.

My Best Day Ever

 My best day that I ever had was when it was birthday when I was turning 10 and me and my family went to safari land. Me and my family went I felt a rush of exciment. I went with my brother mom, dad, and grandma the first thing that I did was play the variety of games. Me and brother also went on rides after the games. After that we played even more games to get slot of tickets for big prices. Once we finished we went to go eat the place that I choose since it was birthday was wings and things. We ate wings and fries. After the day was almost over we picked up a chocolate cake and ate it in my grandma house. This day was very special to me I had alot of fun and that day was memorable.

Oktober Fest Fun and Wonders

The sun was shinning the ferries wheel was spinning the leafs were falling the wind was nice and breezy. People knew the Oktoberfest was here. The variety of activities you can do there are go on rides and play many games. You could also purchase different kinds of foods like Chinese,hot dogs,lemonade and many more. This event only comes once a year so the people of Berwyn enjoy it while it is here. The people of Berwyn attend this event with excitement and eagerness.

The Okoteber fest was on September 16 and 17. This event is good for Berwyn because it draws people to visit our community and what it has to offer. It also gives people the opportunity to enjoy the fest if it's there first time. The lights and music and just the feeling of being there in the event are breath taking and has a great experience. The Oktoberfest is attention grabbing when seen from a distance. The lights seen on the rides and all the noise from the music really grabs you in. Where you can find this event and where it is located is by Windsor Ave and Grove Ave by the Metra train tracks. Many people are excited for it to come back next year to enjoy it again. The Oktoberfest is a really nice and enjoyable way to open up the fall season.

The Outsiders

  Something that I learned from my character Ponyboy is he cares about other people in certain times.  Another thing that I learned from Ponyboy is at times he feels guilty for things he knows he didn't do.  How Ponyboy changed was before Johnny died he was regular he didn't have problems. But after Johhny died Ponyboy was no longer scared of things he was before. He also didn't care anymore about certain things but he still cared about being separated from Dary and Soda. After Dally died Ponyboy was shocked and didn't expect that to happen to a person like Dally. Something that I liked about my character is he when someone is going through a bad time Ponyboy tries to give them advice. When Ponyboy was talking to Cherry about Bobs death Ponyboy made her look at the situation In a positive way. Another thing that I like about Ponyboy is he is sort of the middle guy in the group. He has some traits from some people in the group for example at sometimes he can be serious like Darry and sometimes cool like two-bit.  


 A poem that I found that kinda relates to Ponyboy is called "Change" by Salini Nair

 This relates to Ponyboy because in the first couple of stanzas it says change is a challenge when Johnny dies  Ponyboy could not accept that it really happened. Change is mysterious that relates because when Johnny and Ponyboy were in the church they didn't know what was going to happen next so it was mysterious. In the 3rd line of the first stanza relates to Ponyboy because he realizes why Dary is so strict because he wants to keep the brothers together and not separated. Finally in the very last line in poem Ponyboy connects with himself and his three brothers that they aren't going to fight anymore with each other.  

Throwback Blog

  When I was young my favorite types of books where books that talked about and showed dinosaurs. The reason why I liked these books was because I was interested in learning how they looked. I also used to watch National Geographic on dinosaurs. In the book I would look at the diagram of how tall and fast the different types of dinosaurs where. A favorite movie series that I really enjoyed was the Jurassic Park movies. I liked them all so I didn't have a favorite. Toys that I really enjoyed as a little kid was Pokémon cards and the game I used to trade cards and Pokémon with my friends. I also enjoyed the movies a lot. Another movie that I liked when I was younger was Spider-Man 3. A TV show that I liked when I was younger was the show Drake and Josh. I wasn't really into sports like I am now when I was younger. Now I watch it more frequently then I used to before.

Donovan Mcnabbs Great Career

 My book which is titled Donovan Mcnabb which talks about a former NFL quarterback.  In the book they talked about how he played in college and in the pros. In the NFL he played for serval amount of years. Later on in his career he went to the super bowl in 2005 but sadly lost against Tom Brady and the patriots. But before that the book talks about the amount of injuries he had he was injured so much he missed a lot of games. I recommend this book to people who like football or people who like Donovan Mcnabb. Donovan Mcnabb  also put up good numbers through out his career. He even was a candidate for the MVP award. I didn't find anything wrong with this book I like its detail it had when Donovan was injured. I really enjoyed this book about Donovan Mcnabb.

Tips to become a successful Blogger

 Two tips that I am currently working on are having more detail in my posts about topics. Another tip that I am also working on is having a good response on blog post. Giving detail in blog posts helps me because if I describe a certain place I have to have the reader imagine the place and what kind of stuff are in there. It can also help because if I write a blog post on a book the reader has to know the setting the book is being placed. I also have to give information about the characters and what type of personalty they have and how they look. Having a good response can help me by really showing readers how I feel about the question that I had to answer. Another way that it can help me showing people my thought process in the begging of the question towards the end. These two are important to blogging because it can make your post more interesting because of the detail in it. The detail can also bring the reader along in your post. Good responses show how much thought you put in you answer and effort. It also shows if you cared or just guessed on the question and if you put your response to the best that it could be.

The Journey of Bruce Lees life

 I really enjoyed my book which was a biography about Bruce Lee. The things that I liked about this book was the really good detail that was included about the part when he was making his best movie Enter the Dragon. Another thing that I liked about the book is it talked about what Bruce did in his time in Japan before he became a big martial artist actor. Something that I learned from this book that I didn't know before was that Bruce Lee was that he didn't start off big in his first movie he took him a couple of roles and episodes of shows to go were he went. Something that I would of wished to be longer was the part that talked about Brandon Lee I wouldeve wanted to see what other movies he did  before the Crow and more about his life after Bruce died. But overall I liked the book and what was good included. A reason why I got this book was because I knew who Bruce Lee was and I wanted to know about where he came from and what happened in his life time. I recommend this book to people who like martial arts and Jeet Kune Do and especially Bruce Lee.

Where I Want to go

A place that I want to go is Australia I say this because the scenery there. Another reason that I want to go there is to see how the U.S is different from other countries. I also want to go for the experience and also to have fun. I would also like to see the different types of animals. I would taste the different food they have over there and compare them to the  U.S. How I learned and seen how this place actually looked liked was by a YouTube video that showed the scenery and what types of activities you can do.  Something that I would really like to do is go on an airplane and look at all the different mountains and lakes that are there. One thing that would be really cool to do is to go and swim inside the big oceans and lakes to see all the different types of fish and corral. So in conclusion a place that I  would want to go is Australlia.

Summer Book Blog

 The title of my summer reading book is "47". The authors name is Walter Mosley. This book is about a slave whose name is 47. He is walking one day into the woods and meets some other kid whose name is Tall John. Tall John is very different from 47 the slave owner master Tobias takes him on the plantation. Tall John makes a huge impact among all the slaves on the plantation. But he makes an even bigger impact on 47 life.

Me in 10 years

 10 years from now I want to be able to have my own car. The reason why I want my own car is to go around places without depending on people. I will save money to buy a house while being in an apartment. I will learn how to edit videos or editing in general. 10 years from now I also see myself living in an apartment. A reason why I want to go to college is for the experience. I want to live in an apartment to have my own space. I would also like to travel into another country to go on a vacation and see how the world is different then the U.S. I would also like to buy a home that is good size for me not to far from home. Finally I would want to have a good job that I enjoy that pays well and makes me happy doing what I do.
